Long-story short…

Career #1, 2000-2009: Newspaper person (sports reporter, editor, designer) for two small-town newspapers. First, at the Northern Virginia Daily (2000-2006) and then at the Florence (Ala.) TimesDaily (2006-2009).

Career #2, 2009-present: Government contractor (technical writer, project/program manager, business analyst, management consultant), currently employed by Arete Consulting, LLC and stationed at U.S. Coast Guard Headquarters in Washington, D.C.

Career #3, 2016-present: Freelance writer. I couldn’t stay away, so in 2016, I started covering high school sports and writing feature stories for InsideNova.com, a weekly publication in Woodbridge, Va.
